Ankle Sprains happen to the majority of us at some point in our lives, however you are probably thinking this has happened to you more than enough... There is a reason for that!
After an ankle sprain, 40% of sufferers report
further disability including a sensation of the ankle giving way or a general
feeling of instability despite no loss of passive mechanical restraint (Safran
et al, 1999).
Due to the repetitive damage on the ankle ligaments, they become lax and weak and no longer act as ligaments to restrict excessive joint movement anymore. Without surgery, the only way to help prevent repetitive strain is to use specific exercises.
